Sunday, June 3 is National Cancer Survivors Day. OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center Cancer Support Services is recognizing survivors with a special celebration at George L. Luthy Memorial Botanical Garden, 2520 N. Prospect Rd. in Peoria.
The event takes place from 2-4 p.m. with a butterfly release at 3 p.m. Butterflies are a symbol of renewal, joy and new beginnings. “It really signifies what survivorship means,” says Kathi Copelen, OSF Saint Francis Cancer Services Coordinator.
The public and media are welcome to attend. An RSVP is requested from the public, (309) 308-0200. Refreshments will be served.
